Businessman’s Lunch might just be my favorite waterfall in Ithaca! With there being over 100 waterfalls in 10 square miles here, that’s definitely saying something. I loved how secluded it was.
I visited Well’s Falls, better known as Businessman’s Lunch, on the same day I visited a handful of waterfalls in Ithaca. It was my second to last stop. I hadn’t been here before, but I read about it the night before I took my road trip and thought this would be an awesome place to find, and I was definitely right!
This waterfall got its name because people who work nearby will come sit by the waterfall and eat their lunch during their break! This story makes me love it even more because it’s a very casual setting. I had lunch at the previous waterfall I went to, but I wish we saved it for this one just to go along with what this waterfall is known for! The hike down to it is super short. You can find the entrance across the street from the parking lot, just past the house on the right. The waterfall is adjacent to an abandoned building which gives it an antique vibe.
This waterfall brought out the little kid in my dad! He didn’t have the ideal footwear on to cross the stream to get a better look at the falls so he hopped from rock to rock to get to this giant log in the center of the stream. (In comparison, I wore Hunter Boots, so I could walk wherever I wanted without a care.)

It was so peaceful here. I could tell it’s not a very well known spot since we were the only one’s there! We did pass a family hiking down to the waterfall as we made our way back up but that was it!
Address: 42.433, -76.485 (in Ithaca, NY)
You can find a parking lot just before the bridge so no need to park on the side of the road!
