Exploring Waterfalls at Robert H. Treman State Park in Ithaca, New York

Robert H. Treman State Park is perfect for a day trip to get away from your day to day quarantine routine! I know most of us have started to work again as New York has begun to open back up, but maybe your day off lands on a really hot day! Then take a trip to Ithaca to cool off!

Robert H. Treman State Park is a short thirteen minute drive from the heart of Ithaca, New York, and only an hour and fifteen minutes from Syracuse, New York! The main attraction at this state park is Enfield Glen, which has waterfalls and hiking trails for you to explore.

Prior to arriving at the park, my friend Gianna and I stumbled across a satellite of Cornell Botanical Gardens! Naturally, we took a pit stop to see the beautiful flowers they had. Read more about the pit stop here!

Once we got to the park, we followed the trail that was directly opposite of where we entered (not the gorge trail), and saw this stunning waterfall where we SWAM at its base!! This is a life-guarded area, and they have diving boards too! The day we went, the diving boards were closed because the waterfall had a heavy current, unfortunately. Additionally, the water was really cold that day so I never went fully under! (YES I still swam!)

Gorgeous waterfall in Ithaca, New York at Robert H. Treman State Park, that flows into a stream where you can swim right below the falls.

There are 6 trails where you can explore around the park. You can find more information about them here! I haven’t hiked around the park yet, but I do plan on doing so soon! I will update this when I do! The day Gianna and I visited, we just wanted to relax by the water and not do too much of anything else.

Please keep in mind that some of the trails may be closed at the moment due to COVID, so plan ahead! As of right now, the park is only allowing admission for up to 50% of it’s capacity, so I recommend getting there early in the morning to ensure that you get in!

Here is are the coordinates for the park : 42.398, -76.557.
