The Sunset at Papago Park in Phoenix, Arizona

One of my last Monday’s as a sophomore, I didn’t have much going on so I texted my friend Kynzie (who is soon to be my roommate!) to see if she’d want to catch the sunset at Papago Park nearby.

Papago Park is one of the best places in Phoenix, Arizona where you can watch the sunset. Here, you’ll find the Phoenix zoo, the Papago Golf Course, Hole in the Rock, the Desert Botanical Garden, and miles of trails you can walk.

In this blog, I’ll share with you the locations of where we caught the sunset to give you inspo for a photoshoot or simply watching the sunset with friends!

First, we wanted to take pictures so we went to the pond by Hole in the Rock where there were ducks swimming around and palm trees in the background! Afterwards, the sun was about to set so we drove to a parking lot nearby so we could walk to a mountain that looked like it had a good view of the west horizon.

Walking from the parking lot, we were on a dirt path. I was wearing sneakers so I was okay but Kynzie was wearing sandals so she had a more difficult time walking. We had to walk up a small slope to reach the point we wanted. It wasn’t much of a walk, but without the proper shoes it’ll feel like miles.

I’m constantly amazed by the colors of the sunsets in Arizona. Back in New York, once in a while we’ll get a sunset that illuminates the sky with vibrant colors, but for the most part they are pretty mellow.

Where’s your go-to spot to watch the sunset? Let me know in the comments!
